Monteverde One Touch Stylus Tool Series
Have you ever wanted a pen or pencil that was built tough for hard work? Or wished that you had something more than just a writing tool? Well the good people at Monteverde did, and they created the One Touch Stylus Tool line of writing instruments. The lineup includes: a fountain pen, mechanical pencil, ballpoint, and an “inkball” (a rollerball which is filled via fountain pen cartridges). Each writing instrument includes a stylus, a level (except on the pencil), four different measurement rulers, a Philips, and flathead screwdriver. All these features come housed in a solid metal body with four different writing modes. My friends at YAFA sent me the collection to test and review. Thanks go out to them for sending these over and you can learn more about the line at http://www.monteverdepens.com/tool_pen_all.html
Packaging: Each of the Tool lineup comes in the same long rectangular yellow and black carboard box. Which has images of all the writing modes on one side with a sticker indicating which model you received and an image of the Tool Pen ballpoint. Inside there is a carboard insert the pen is clipped to which has information about the line and refill/operating instructions.First Thoughts: The design looks like something you would find in a toolbox. The measurements on the body are easy to read and laid out well and I like the simple packaging.

Ballpoint: The ballpoint is operated by twist mechanism like the mechanical pencil. The mechanism moves easily but holds tightly in the extended and retracted positions. Like every Monteverde ballpoint I have used, it wrote as smooth as glass. The pen uses standard Monteverde ballpoint refills, so you can swap it out with your favorite point size and color.Value: The MSRP of the line is: $30 USD for the ballpoint, $50 USD for the fountain pen, $45 USD for the inkball, and $40 USD for the mechanical pencil.
Overall: This is an interesting addition to Monteverde’s offerings. While I don’t think it will be a hit with everyone, I think that this is a great design for people on the go that want durability or contractors that want to be able to use a reliable pen or pencil at work and not have to worry about it breaking. The design catches your eye and the features included are useful for everyday needs. I have used the screwdriver to fix my wife’s glasses at least twice since I got these for review.Specs:Name: Monteverde One Touch Stylus ToolDesign: Metal hexagonal bodyLength: 150 mm (5.9 in)Posted: N/ADiameter: 10.2 mm (0.4 in)Weight: 38g (1.34 oz)Writing point/filling system: Stainless steel nib, 0.9mm pencil lead, D1 ballpoint, rollerballPros: Very durable, tools are useful, wide variety of color options, multiple writing modes.Cons: No defined grip section, heavy for longer writing sessions.
