Baltimore/Washington International Pen Show 2020!!!!!

Get Thee to A Pen Show! The Baltimore-Washington International Pen Show is just around the corner! This year, the event will be held Feb 28th- March 1st at the BWI Airport Marriott at 1743 West Nursery Rd, Linthicum Heights, MD 21090. The show will run 11am-6pm Friday, 10am-5pm Saturday, and 10am-4pm Sunday. Pen shows are a great chance to meet friends, find grail pens, look for things you didn't even know you needed, and most importantly, have fun! You can order your tickets ahead of time at https://baltimorepenshow.com/ or get them at the door and are $10 for a single day, $15 for 2 day, and $20 for a 3 day pass. There are way to many awesome vendors attending to list them all out, but check out the complete list at the Vendors page to see if your favorite vendor will be there. I hope to see and meet many of you at the show so be sure to stop by my table and say hey and introduce yourself. This will be my 9th year attending, and I wanted to put together a Do's and Don’ts of pen show for new attendees and maybe even for veteran goers.Do's:-Hit the nib grinder tables early to make sure you get a spot on their daily work lists.-Plan to bring something to drink and eat.-Bring a list of what you want to look at and/or buy so you don't forget anything.-Sign up early for any classes that you are interested in (http://baltimorepenshow.com/events-2020/)-Bring things you are interested in trading, selling, sharing, or donating.-Come with an open mind to learn about pens and products.-Attend any local pen club meet and greets and after show events.-Hit the Pengeek13 Share the Wealth table to drop off items you want to share and maybe get something new for yourself.-Bring a friend you are trying to get into the hobby. Don’ts:-Don't bring a huge backpack! Space can be limited and the last thing you want to do is hit people with your bag repeatedly.-Forget to eat and drink.-Forget to look for those grail pens on your list to try out. The show this year includes a ton of classes and events including:

  • Italic Script and Copperplate classes with calligrapher Nik Pang
  • Zentangles with Jessica Davies
  • Origami and Cursive writing classes with Hong Nguyen
  • A “Meet the Makers” seminar with: Story Supply Co., Write Notepads & Co., Tiny Dog Press, and DramaMama Bookshop. Moderated by Ana Reinert of the Well-Appointed Desk
  • Pen Show Jeopardy with Brad Dowdy
  • Pen Shows After Dark hosted by Mr. Fountain Pen Day Cary Yeager of Kenro
