Moving in Place

[Update 4/5/2021:] We have moved! There may still be a few bits and bobs to iron out, but please enjoy the new Penquisition.com

Greetings to all of our lovely readers!

Just a brief heads up this week that we are in the process of migrating this site from Wordpress to Squarespace. Hopefully, this won't have any actual impact on your life and enjoyment of our content, and aside from a slight change in layout, you never would have noticed had we not said anything. But because I've never undertaken a move of this sort before, I just wanted to give you all a heads up if anything goes funky with any links or content.

This is something that we've been hoping to do for a long time, and it's going to help us to bring you a lot of more exciting content in the future, including a shop with Penquisition merchandise, PenQueue pen blocks, PenQT pen rests, and other exciting items that are still in the works.

I often write about our blog in the plural, and I can see how that might be mistaken for affectation, but I want to be explicit here in my appreciation for my semi-silent partner in this endeavor, my father Julian. While he rarely posts on the blog (because he insist that I'm the better writer) this entire effort has been a joint project from the beginning at all levels; from brainstorming names, to discussing which pens and other items to review, to long product design conversations before eventually sending him down to his basement woodshop to work on penblocks. When I talked him into joining me at the BWI Pen Show in 2017 I had no idea that this is where we would end up, but I am so grateful that we've built this additional medium through which to bond, and I am so excited to continue to evolve it together. And I am especially grateful that over the past year, when our contact has been so limited due to the pandemic, we had this excuse to force us into occasional contact.

And I am also grateful for each and every one of you out there who aren't my father, for your friendship and support and patronage. We love this community, and we are so excited for everything to come as we grow this website and as the world opens back up with in person pen shows and pen meets and in store events and the like. We can't wait to see you all again, virtually and in person.
