Often called “America in Miniature” because it features almost every type of terrain as the greater United States: from the Appalachian mountains to the sandy dunes of Ocean City; from the farmlands of the Eastern Shore to the metropolitan sprawl of the Baltimore-Washington corridor. Maryland also features a range of fauna and flora, from the ponies of Assateague Island, to the blue crabs of the Chesapeake, to our state flower, the Black-Eyed Susan, which adorns the top disc of this pen and serves as its namesake. Maryland is a diverse state filled with people from all walks of life and every kind of opportunity you could dream of.

That’s why we here at Penquisition are so excited to be able to offer this Maryland flag Exclusive Tornado rollerball pen, in collaboration with Retro 1951. This first batch is an open numbered edition of 500. If demand is high we will be printing more, because discontinuing a state flag forever just seems wrong. Each pen features a unique number, and only this first printing will include the numbers 001 through 500 on rollerballs. Each pen also features Retro 1951’s patented twist feature for deploying and retracting the rollerball refills.

For every pen sold, Penquisition will donate $3 to the Living Classrooms Foundation, which provides access in the Baltimore and Washington, DC area to more equitable education, workforce development, community safety, and health and wellness opportunities that enable individuals to achieve their aspirations and build safer, stronger, and healthier communities for all. A lump-sum donation will be made quarterly, or when all pens from each batch have been sold.
