Girologio double pen case review and giveaway!!!!!
You never know how a great idea will get its spark. Sometimes it is from seeing a need and finding a way to fix it, sometimes it is being in the right place at the right time, and other times it is from chance encounters. The owners of Girologio, Mario Campa and Heinz Dschankilic, shared an adjoining booth at the Philly Pen Show and in late 2017, Girologio was founded. Per their site, “Girologio believes that leather accessories for pens should be of high quality, affordable for the masses, and provide great attention to detail. With the manufacturing partner committed to this vision, Girologio has crafted a product line that is unsurpassed with respect to price and quality.” Frank from Federalist Pens and Paper sent me a Girologio 2 pen case to test out and giveaway. The giveaway is live on my Instagram account @Pengeek13 and will run until 3/22/2019 at 11:59 pm EST and a random winner will be selected to receive this case. Entry is limited to the U.S. Check out the Girologio line at Federalist Pens and Paper and order a case for yourself.First Thoughts: The leather has a beautiful glossy finish with clean stitching and rivet accents.
Design: I received a double pen magnetic closure case in black for this review. The case is also available in oxblood and tan. The magnetic closure holds a flap firmly shut to protect your pens. When you open the flap, which comes halfway down the body, there is a fold down on the body that exposes the top 1/3 of the pens for easy removal. At first I was confused by the purpose of this feature, but I grew to really like it - especially with thicker pens that have a tendency of being harder to pull out of my other cases. The top corners of the case have round silver-colored rivets that add a nice contrast to the black leather. The leather is soft over a hard interior, which helps protect your pens from bumps and jostles. Inside, there is a soft finish and a divider to prevent your pens from damaging each other. The black stitching matches the leather and adds a nice finish to the case. A simple but nice touch is the company name embossed at the bottom of the back of the pen case. The case dimensions are 1 in. thick x 1¾ in. wide x 6 in. long.Value: The Girologio double pen magnetic case retails for $39.99, but it is currently on sale for $36.00 at Federalist Pens and Paper.Overall: I have tried many different pen cases over the past 7 years I have been in this wonderful hobby. Some have blown me away, some have been really disappointing. To find a great quality, durable, real leather pen case for this price is really impressive. The little touches like the matching stitching, the rivets, and the fold down flap, show that Girologio is dedicated to putting out a quality product for pen people, made by pen people. I will be looking to add some of their products to my collection in the near future.
